The 10-Minute Daily Planning Routine That Changed My Life
I used to think daily planning had to be a 30-minute power session with color-coded markers and a perfect desk. But with kids, work, and a to-do list that renews itself overnight, that wasn’t realistic.
So I simplified it. And this one 10-minute habit changed everything.
Why 10 Minutes Works
Ten minutes is long enough to get focused — but short enough to not feel like “one more thing.” I do it before the rest of the house is awake or while sipping my first cup of coffee.
What My Daily Planning Routine Looks Like:
Top 3 Priorities — What do I really need to get done today?
Quick Wins — 1–2 things I can knock out in under 10 minutes
Family Focus — Any school forms, pickups, or family check-ins
One Self-Care Item — Even if it’s just deep breathing or 5 minutes outside
Evening Reset Note — What will help me close the day calmly?
This method is now part of the Time Mastery for Working Parents course — and it’s one of the routines students say helps them feel most grounded.
Final Thought:
You don’t need more time. You need a plan that works with your life, not against it. And it starts with 10 minutes.
